Samaritan Stitchers
Welcome to all who would like to join the Samaritan Stitchers. We are a group of stitchers who seek ways for our handiwork to benefit our own church members and to help others in our community. Care for others and the love of needlecrafts have been combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. The crafter begins each item with prayers for the recipient and continues praying until the piece is complete. We hope both the giver and the receiver feel the unconditional embrace of a sheltering, loving God woven into the final prayer piece.
Although newly formed, we have made prayer shawls for people who need TLC, quilts to cover isolettes at the Greenville Memorial NICU, heart-shaped pillows for the Anderson Cancer Association, caps for cancer patients, and items for the CUMC new baby baskets.
We invite everyone who enjoys needlecrafts to join us. If you can’t be with us “in person” and would like to participate from home, please do so. If you don’t have a project we will find one to suit your interest.
Our gatherings are from 2-4 PM on the 2nd Tuesday and 3rd Thursday of each month. These dates are subject to change to meet holiday schedules or other conflicts. Just check the church newsletter for any changes. Come and stitch with us!
