Disaster Relief Ministry

CUMC is actively involved in providing relief amidst disaster, both locally and far away. Our activities include:

Serving as a Red Cross Shelter in the event of a local emergency
Ongoing disaster assistance to the Gulf Coast in the wake of the 2005 hurricanes
Support for Haiti following the 2010 earthquake
Relief for Guatemala following volcanic activity and torrential flooding from Tropical Storm Agatha in summer 2010
Providing a "Disaster Buddies" program for church members to "buddy-up" with two other families in the event of a local emergency, such as flooding, ice storms, or power outages
