  • ​Faithful and Inclusive

    Come share about the important work of inclusion for LGBTQIA+ neighbors, friends, and family. Using a variety of Christian resources, including the work of Rev. Rob Fuquay, Sr. Pastor of St, Luke UMC Indiana, we will explore scripture, theology and stories to learn about building community among all people.

    ALL are welcome! ​This course is offered annually and planned around current interest among members and guests of CUMC.

  • Still Waters

    Still Waters

    We love offering an opportunity to explore some of the more contemplative practices of our faith (centering prayer, Lectio Divina, guided meditation, nature appreciation, and more.)

    Intermittently throughout the year, we take a single hour or day, or a brief season, to focus on contemplative life together.

    We would love to know that you are interested in joining us as we make plans for future meeting days and times. These opportunities are co-led by our Minister of Discipleship, Rev. Meg Wilkes with church member, Kim Moss, and are based on level of interest.

  • Zoom Adult Discussion Class

    Wherever you are in the world you can join us for topical discussions on books, authors, teachers etc. such as the classic “Honest to God” by John A.T. Robinson, selections by Barbara Brown Taylor and other contemporary theologians. 


    Class members have zoomed in from here in Clemson, New Jersey, Georgia, Mexico, Ukraine, New York etc. 


    Our intention is to Grow and stretch in faith. Join us for hearty discussions around challenging topics about faith and practice.  Facilitated by Bruce Yandle.

  • Monday Discussion Group

    All are welcome! 

    The Monday Discussion group is a lively, interactive book study for people interested in diving deeper into topics of faith and spirituality using texts that respect diversity in faith expression, healthy critique, and holy curiosity.

    Howard Thurmond

    ….and many others.

    The face of our group changes from time to time. We have been a mixture of ages and interests over the years, including working professionals, retired folks, graduate students, couples, singles, with gender and social diversity.

    Our purpose is to experience the challenge of spiritual growth together in a relaxed and hospitable setting, no matter our roles or positions in life.

  • The 11th Hour Community

    The 11th Hour Community

    The 11th Hour is a community of young couples with and without children gathering on Sunday mornings to grow in grace, reflect on Scripture, and build community together. We meet on Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. in the Christian Life Center in Room 402, Childcare is provided.

  • New Spirit Sunday School Class

    Welcome!

    New Spirit meets at 9:45am between CUMC’s two traditional services.

    Our class is a discussion-oriented group, facilitated by rotating teachers.

    We are cultivating a deeper relationship with God through a variety of Book and curriculum resources with a rotating facilitator format.

    We have enjoyed biblical and topical studies by respected authors in the Wesleyan tradition, such as J Ellsworth Kalas, Philip Yancy, Gayle Carlton Fulton, Leonard Sweet, Adam Hamilton, and others.

    Our topics range from Church seasons (Advent and Lent) to studies on hope, trust, prayer, social concerns, world religions and challenging faith questions. We are intentional about discipleship and have a wonderful time learning together. Come and see!  We happily welcome guests and new class members.

  • As You Are

    As You Are

    As You Are is a Sunday school class devoted to the Welcome and Inclusion of LGBTQIA+ individuals, friends, family, and allies.

    This class is an officially recognized group in the Reconciling Ministries Network (a national organization dedicated to justice for The United Methodist Church and by the SC Reconciling Ministries Council. We advocate for the full inclusion, affirmation, support, and spiritual gifting of our LGBTQIA+ neighbors and siblings.

    We are grateful to be in The UNITED Methodist Church, as we live into a posture of hospitality and love for ALL people. 

    Our class is an open discussion style, using various resources to explore faith and practice.

    Coming soon – extension ministries of As You Are, reaching out and making space for LGBTQIA+ students as well as younger adults in Clemson and surrounding area.

  • ​Men’s Bible Study

    This group meets on Tuesday mornings at 8:30 in Room 402 of the Christian Life Center. In our sessions, we discuss Bible passages and use videos to spur additional thoughts. This is a large group of men, many of whom also participate in the CUMC United Methodist Men’s group.

    Attendees are always welcome to both.

     
    Meeting Time: Tuesdays @ 8:30am (except the 3rd Tuesday – join us then for UMM Breakfast)
